Loubna Amarir worked as the Program Assistant with the Center for Migrant Advocacy (CMA) in Quezon City, Philippines. This placement was part of CAPI's 2009-10 Students for Development Program, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Loubna is a fourth-year UVic student majoring in psychology, with a focus on social psychology, women's psychology and interpersonal communication. Prior to her studies at UVic she obtained a BA in Business in Morocco, which involved extensive studies in law and ethics. Loubna is committed to furthering women's rights and social justice and is especially concerned about the problems encountered by migrant workers from developing countries who are sometimes exploited and mistreated. Loubna has lived in Morocco, Canada and France and has travelled extensively in Europe and Asia.
