Zoë Bake-Paterson

Zoë Bake‐Paterson, a UVic alumni, worked as the Research and Communications Officer with the Pacific Islands AIDS Foundation (PIAF) in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, as part of CAPI's 2005-06 Internship Program funded by Foreign Affairs Canada.
Zoë is from Vancouver, BC, and has a BA in Professional and Creative Writing with a minor in Women's Studies from the University of Victoria. Following her placement Zoë was hired by the Pacific Islands AIDS Foundation.
In describing her internship experience Zoë said:
“I would say my own experience has exceeded my expectations – Maire [PIAF's CEO] has been nothing but encouraging and engaging to work for/with…Working on a subcommittee of the Cook Islands National AIDS Committee, I was responsible for the entire World AIDS Day media campaign for the Cook Islands. These projects took me well beyond my usual media/communications work. I was able to coordinate and execute and entire media campaign – with great success, based on coverage – for a national event.”
