Timothy Craig is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business at the University of Victoria where he teaches "The International Environment of Business" and "Introduction to the Japanese Business Environment."
His current and recent projects include: a study of foreign direct investment by Korean companies; comparison among North American, Japanese, Taiwanese, and Chinese methods of employee control and motivation and employee attitudes to risk-taking; and organizational evolution of the Japanese multinational corporation, Matsushita.
Japanese management and innovation, organizational structure of multinational corporations and cross-national HRM are some of his research interests.
Timothy Craig's recent publications include: Japan Pop! Inside the World of Japanese Culture (M.E. Sharpe, Inc., 2000); "Country Competitiveness in the Information Age: A Content Comparison of Canadian and Japanese Daily Newspapers" (Proceedings of 1995 Conference of the Japanese Studies Association of Canada, 1995); and "Japanese Beer Wars: Initiating and Responding to Hypercompetition in New Product Development" (in Organizational Science, Vol. 7 number 3 or 4, 1996).
