Saje FitzGerald worked as a Program Assistant with the Women and Gender Institute (WAGI), Miriam College, in Quezon City, Philippines. This internship was part of CAPI's 2009-10 Students for Development Program, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Saje is currently a second-year Masters student at UVic in Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies, with a focus on Women's Studies, International Law, Human Rights and Equity, and Social Work. She is passionate about working with women and committed to participatory feminist-action research and advocacy. In the last two years, Saje has been working with Congolese women's organizations to promote human rights education, exploring political, juridical and legislative strategies to address rights and remedies for women who experience gendered violence.
