Raya Yampolsky

With CAPI from July, 2009 - December, 2009

Raya Yampolsky worked as a Program Assistant with Future Generations China, in Beijing, China, with a focus on the efforts related to the 2009 Green Long March. This internship was part of CAPI's 2009-10 Students for Development Program, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Raya is a fourth-year UVic student in Environmental Studies, Russian Studies and Women's Studies. With a passion for combining ecology and technology, Raya introduced a documentary production company at UVic with their first film featured at the Eco-doc festival in Victoria. Raya has travelled extensively in Europe, South America and the United States and has participated in cultural exchanges in France and Ukraine. Raya will travel to Irkutsk, Russia, following her internship in China.
