Japan Program Visitorships
The Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives (CAPI) invites applications for visiting appointments tenable at the Centre and a host disciplinary Department/Faculty through 2011. The Visitorship will appeal to tenured Japan-related scholars who are on study leave for at least one term or who are otherwise free to take up a short-term appointment.
The CAPI Japan Program Visiting Associate will be expected to provide a CAPI Brown Bag seminar and contribute to CAPI program activities in the wider community, including the organization of a campus Colloquium. The Visiting Associate may also teach a senior undergraduate or graduate level seminar in the co-host Department/Faculty or provide guest lectures on campus in relevant courses. The Visiting Associate will be provided with office space, computer facilities and access to electronic and library services. The Visitorship is valued at Cdn $20,000.
Japan-related scholars with an established scholarly reputation in their field and a network of personal and institutional contacts in Japanese studies are encouraged to apply. CAPI is the University's interdisciplinary research and activity unit established to conduct research, advisory and teaching programs in the Asia-Pacific region.
