Jim Anglin joined the faculty at the University of Victoria in 1980 and has served as Graduate Advisor and Director of the School of Child and Youth Care. He was appointed Associate Vice-President Academic and Director of International Affairs in January 2004.
Prior to joining UVic, he worked in a social policy position in Ottawa and as a Senior Project Coordinator with the Children's Services Division in Toronto. He has been a technical adviser to the World Health Organization and the South African Inter-Ministerial Committee on Young People at Risk, is the Canadian representative to FICE-International (UNESCO), and has presented papers, keynote addresses and workshops in over 20 countries.
Jim Anglin is on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Child and Family Welfare, Child and Youth Care Forum, Child and Youth Services, Journal of Child Care Work, and Reclaiming Youth at Risk. He was coordinating editor for the text Perspectives in Professional Child and Youth Care (Haworth, 1990) and is author of Pain, Normality and the Struggle for Congruence: Reinterpreting Residential Care for Children and Youth (Haworth, 2002).
